Pete grew up in Middlebury, Vermont, and graduated from St Michael’s College in Winooski, Vermont. After college Pete entered the US Army where he attended helicopter flight school and went on to serve as a UH-1 Huey and UH-60 Blackhawk pilot and instructor pilot.

After 12 years on active duty, Pete left the Army and moved to New Hampshire, where for the next 15 years he worked full-time in the NH Army National Guard Aviation Support Facility as the Operations Officer and Senior Instructor Pilot. While with the NH Army Guard, Pete deployed to Iraq twice and Afghanistan once as a UH-60 MEDEVAC Pilot.

In 2015, Pete moved to Maine and began his second career as a pilot with Lifeflight of Maine. Pete continued with the Maine Army National Guard as a part-time UH-60 Instructor Pilot until retiring in 2018 after a combined 30 years of service between active duty and National Guard service. Pete continued with LifeFlight of Maine and became a Base Lead Pilot in Bangor, followed by selection as the Chief Pilot for the newly formed Lifeflight Aviation Services in 2021. In 2023 Pete was selected in his current role as Director of Operations.

Pete has three grown children and two grandchildren. Pete and his wife, Amy, live on a small hobby farm in Newburgh, Maine.
