Clinical Base Manager (Lewiston)

The Clinical Base Manager (CBM) provides management and oversight of LifeFlight clinical staff to ensure accomplishment of organizational vision, mission, values, and objectives. The CBM is a LifeFlight clinical position and with regular clinical assignment in providing all modes of LifeFlight transport. The CBM must meet all hiring and ongoing job requirements for assignment to LifeFlight. The CBM is a salaried position that requires travel to support LifeFlight of Maine’s base sites and primary service area to perform job functions. The job may require occasional national travel as needed for training, certifications, conferences, or as directed.


LifeFlight Access Coordinator

The LifeFlight Access Coordinator is responsible for evaluating and making recommendations for the expansion and sustainability of LifeFlight’s access projects, to include the remote access project, establishment and expansion of pre-designated emergency landing areas (PELAs), and expanding partnerships with 911 centers, landowners, clubs, and government agencies. 


Flight Nurse

Reports To: Base Manager

Location: Bangor, Lewiston, or Sanford

Job Summary

The LifeFlight of Maine RN is responsible and accountable for transporting and stabilizing
critically ill or injured patients from on-scene calls and interfacility transports to tertiary
institutions. The LifeFlight of Maine RN is required to plan and provide care based on his/her
assessments of critically ill patients working under the standards and protocols approved by the
Medical Director. Use of these standards and protocols may require implementation of critical
care without the presence of a physician, but with contact through telephone or radio. This
includes the performance of invasive procedures, interpretation of diagnostic studies, and
administration of appropriate medications and IV fluids in accordance with established medical
protocols and the Maine Nurse Practice Act. The flight RN is part of a team with the Flight
Paramedic, who together act as the patient’s advocate and liaison with pre-hospital care
providers to assure air transport safety. The LifeFlight of Maine RN is responsible and
accountable for knowledge and care of air medical equipment, communications by radio,
telephone, dispatch protocols, and Maine EMS system and protocols.


Revenue Cycle Specialist

Reporting to the Director of Revenue Cycle, this position is responsible for patient account management including accurate claim submission to all payers in accordance with regulatory and contractual obligations. This person is responsible for all aspects of the billing claim cycle including, patient eligibility, prior authorization, claim coding, payment posting, debit and credit balance review, appeals processing, and denial resolutions.


Flight Paramedic

Reports To: Base Manager

Location: Bangor, Lewiston, or Sanford

Job Summary

The LifeFlight of Maine Paramedic is responsible and accountable for transporting and stabilizing

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Location: Bangor, Lewiston, or Sanford

Work Schedule: Full-time, Part-time, or per diem

We’re currently hiring EMTs at each of our bases (Bangor, Lewiston, or Sanford).

Our EMTs are part of our expanding Critical Care Ground Transport Program. Under the direction of the base managers, our EMTs are responsible for safely operating LifeFlight of Maine’s Ground Critical Care Transport vehicles. This position is a core part of our team, providing comprehensive, safe, and effective medical care to patients transported by LifeFlight of Maine.

Air Communications Specialist 

Reports To: MedComm – New England’s Medical Access Point, LLC

Location: Bangor

Job Summary

This posting is for a LifeFlight of Maine Air Communications Specialist at MedComm – New England’s Medical Access Point, LLC in Bangor, ME. MedComm is the largest private ambulance dispatch center in Maine. This position is responsible for: receiving emergent and non-emergent transportation requests, scheduling calls and dispatching ground transport vehicles; and receiving and managing requests for air ambulance assets for LifeFlight of Maine.


Chief Inspector (LifeFlight Aviation Services)

LifeFlight Aviation Services (LFAS) is hiring a Chief Inspector. LFAS is a wholly owned subsidiary of LifeFlight of Maine committed to operating a safe, high-reliability, instrument-based aviation system for medical transport in Maine and northern New England through dedication and innovation. The Chief Inspector is responsible to review and perform quality control to the record keeping practices of aircraft operated by LFAS. The position is responsible for oversight and policy compliance issues that pertain to aircraft records and maintenance tracking. The CI maintains the programs maintenance tracking software for accuracy of data as it pertains to aircraft maintenance compliance. The Chief Inspector manages the maintenance quality assurance program for the LFAS air carrier certificate.
