For Communities

When LifeFlight started there was limited aviation infrastructure to support medical helicopter response across the state.

As with commercial aviation, we access through airports, an effective air medical system requires infrastructure—known places to land—LZ’s, hospital and community helipad, weather reporting stations, communications, instrument navigation procedures, airport improvements to runways and fuel, and strong EMS system. Since its inception, working with public and private funding, LifeFlight has assisted hospitals, airports, and communities working to improve access for patients.
