Spending her childhood in California, the first day she set foot on land in Maine was the same day she officially moved here. Initially intending to only stay for the summer, Mackenzie has now been a full-time Maine resident for 15 years. She now manages the Marketing and Advertising for Lyman-Morse Boat building, a family- owned company. Mackenzie started a brokerage division, developed a boutique art hotel, and helped found an annual regatta in Camden, whose proceeds benefit LifeFlight.

In her prior life as a corporate professional, Mackenzie worked in Los Angeles and San Francisco in the marketing & advertising fields for Fortune 500 companies and dotcom start-ups. Mackenzie has served on the board of the Penobscot Bay Rendezvous and Camden Classics Cup and served on the Maine SAD Strategic Planning Committee. She has volunteered with the Farnsworth Museum and the Apprenticeshop. She spends her free time sailing, skiing and exploring the world with her with her husband and two children. She holds a degree from UCLA.
