Zachary Brandwein is an attorney at Bernstein Shur, in the Municipal & Governmental Services and Commercial & Governmental Finance Construction practices. Zack regularly represents contractors and homeowners in construction disputes. He also represents large companies, municipalities, and individuals in complex commercial cases ranging from contract disputes to environmental torts to class action defense.
His passion for litigation enables him to counsel clients and guide them through complex issues while aggressively representing their interests. Zack also serves as bond counsel for numerous municipalities and non-profit organizations. He has helped clients issue over $150 million in tax-exempt bonds and advised issuers on intricate tax compliance issues long after their projects have been built.
Prior to joining Bernstein Shur, Zack served as an intern to the Honorable Paul Cleary of the United States District Court; Northern District of Oklahoma, and prior to that he was a paralegal at Pine Tree Legal Assistance in Portland, Maine. Zack received his J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law, where he received Order of the Curule Chair, which is the highest academic honor at the university, his M.A. from the University of Southern Maine, and his B.A. from Occidental College. Zack resides in Portland, Maine.
