The Healing Power of Gratitude

We know from speaking with patients that gratitude can be a powerful healing tool. The LifeFlight of Maine Grateful Patient Program is one way for patients to say thank you, build awareness, and help raise funds to ensure LifeFlight crews can continue to answer the call for help from those who need it most.

We hope that you will consider joining the LifeFlight of Maine Grateful Patient Program in whatever way feels right to you. We know that in some cases, our patients and their families need time before reconnecting with LifeFlight. Regardless of how and when you want to be involved, we look forward to welcoming you into the LifeFlight of Maine community.

Please also know that the Foundation team is always available to talk with you. We love hearing your stories and we often pass them on to the crew; this is an important part of their healing as well.

The LifeFlight of Maine Grateful Patient Program includes:

The LifeFlight Patient Ambassador Program

Provides opportunities for patients and family members to be involved with LifeFlight events. For patients and families who are willing, the chance to share your story is a powerful way to help spread awareness about the importance of LifeFlight.

The LifeFlight Grateful Patient Fund

A special fund for LifeFlight patients and family members to make a donation in recognition of the compassionate care they or a loved one received.

LifeFlight Patient Reunions

Come to a LifeFlight base to meet the crew and for an insider look at what happens behind the scenes.

The Cross for LifeFlight Patient/Family Team

Join forces with other LifeFlight patients and their family members to participate as a team in the Cross for LifeFlight, our signature peer-to-peer fundraising event that takes place every August.

LifeFlight Memorial and Planned Giving

Some patients and their family members decide to include a special provision for LifeFlight in their will or estate plans, or ask that memorial donations in their honor be made to LifeFlight.

LifeFlight has safely cared for 35,000 patients of all ages—from premature infants and critically injured children, to adults and seniors who need specialty care. The calls for help come from all points in Maine—from mountains, lakes, and coastal islands; from highways, trails, and main streets; and most importantly, from hospital to hospital.
